Subject AW: [ib-support] Linux crashes

my intuitive answer would be: you have a hardware problem
we have many server here running on SuSE linux, some with 7.2, some with
7.3. i have never seen such a problem. i suggest you to use another kernel,
not the standard SuSE kernel. we use the 2.4.16, 2.4.17 and the 2.4.18
kernel sucessfully with firebird.

Betreff: [ib-support] Linux crashes

we have big trouble with our new installed linux/firebird-server.

SuSE Linux 7.3 (Kernel 2.4.10),
FirebirdSS-1.0.0.796-0.i386.rpm,
Samba 2.2.1a

the server crashes all 6-8 hours ( CachePages 2048 )
or 20-24 hours ( CachePages 75 ).

no hints in the logfile, mem usage in "top" is avg 15 MB.

we have the same result on different server-hardware/machines.
linux crashes completely - reset-button...
