Hi,
I'm having a problem with FB RC2 on XP Pro. When I disconnect (and
I mean disconnect, not connect) from a database it hangs for a few (~10)
seconds. The strange thing is the hang doesn't happen if I have an
transaction open in isql while I disconnect. The specifics of the setup
are:
Database Server - FB 1.0 RC2 SS on XP Pro
Client 1 - FB 1.0 RC2 on Win2k using isql
Client 2 (both have the problem) - FB 1.0 build ~760 on wince using ESQL
Server has System Restore off (machine rebooted, and setting double
checked)
Server hardware:
~1.5 Ghz P4
512 MB ram
Database:
4 tables, 1 row total, 2 stored procedures
forced writes at default setting (default is really off for RC2, if
memory serves)
I hope I didn't leave any specs out. I don't think the hardware (client
or server) is an issue. I'm not sure the problem is happening at
disconnect or while committing the last transaction before disconnect.
I have committed other transaction during the same isql session, so I
doubt it is the last commit, but I can' be sure. The hang doesn't occur
when I connect to the same database hosted on a different linux machine.
Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks.
