Hi Mark, do you really mean this? Because of one tool opting not to support
Firebird, development of Firebird should be restrained? If IBX was the only
way to go, you might have a point. But you wrote yourself that FIBplus
looks interesting, and IB Objects have won the award "Best Database
Connectivity" from Delphi Informant two years running (and I'm amongst
those having voted for it - it's a pleasure to use), so IBX is up to
serious competition. Nothing prevents you from supporting both Interbase
and Firebird - except IBX. To me, the logical conclusion would be to ditch
IBX if you want to ensure compatibility with Firebird in the future.
