Subject Do we need something more that GDS32.DLL on the client side?

Hi All

Fingerman posted a very interesting way of using gds32.dll on IBO newsgroup,
and now we have some doubts: do we really need the messages file
(interbase.msg) or not? If so, does Gds32.dll use the registry to locate it?
Does gds32.dll use the registry at all?

In http://ibinstall.defined.net/ looking for a Minimal Client Installation,
David R. Robinson says that we need the message files because:

"'INTERBASE.MSG contains the text used in the InterBase client and server
error messages. It is important that you install the same version of
GDS32.DLL and INTERBASE.MSG on the system."

The location for gds32.dll is %system32% folder. The location for
interbase.msg should be %interbase% folder. But there is no info in David
doc regarding registry keys for interbase.msg, so if gds32.dll needs that
file, what is the way to locate it?

Looking for a minimal client installation without registry keys, and
assuming that gds32.dll really needs interbase.msg, it will be enough
copying this file to our application directory?
