Artur,
compiler (most people use MS VC) -- there is a long/ugly history about
the use of the MS compilers...
The good news is that one of the goals of FB2 is a port to C++, which
should mean that the windows build can be built using gcc (cygnus).
I don't know any further details, perhaps you could post some questions
to the Firebird dev list and this might be something that you can work
on/contribute to the project.
