With Delphi 6, Borland issued a new version of the BDE and a new driver for IB 6 but this one seems still to have a bug with the Dialect 3 Timestamp type.
These problems affect Dialect 3, regardless of whether it is Firebird or IB 6. As for Dialect 1, well, BDE 5.1 and the IB 5 driver aren't *certified* for IB 6 so, if you get the expected results, it's a bonus.

>I have read somewhere that I can't access Firebird from BDE. IS that true? No. Problems have been reported trying to access a Dialect 3 database with the old version of the BDE, specifically the IB driver doesn't know about new/changed data types in Dialect 3.
