I don't want to start a filesystem war ;-) but I believe the blanket
statement about Linux's 2Gb limit is not true (any more). In previous
versions of Linux, the VFS (virtual file system) had a 2Gb upper file
size limit, and the Extended 2 filesystem (Linux native filesystem)
may also have had a similar limit (though that may not be true). In
recent versions of the Linux kernel, these limits have disappeared. If
InterBase/Firebird don't have their own internal limits on the Linux
platform, then it should be possible in theory (I've never tried it)
to have database files bigger than 2Gb on, say, Red Hat Linux 7.1.

Can anyone further clarify this? Does anyone have personal experience
with > 2Gb InterBase database files on Linux?
