AFAIK, 2 Gb is the FAT32 limit on all Windows versions, 4Gb is the NTFS limit on all NTs. fwiw, 2 Gb is also the upper limit on Linux, but this doesn't apply to all Unixes.

Sean posted some figures on this list a few weeks ago, as I recall. Perhaps he could dig them out again and they can be added to the releasenotes somewhere; although this is an operating system issue, not a FB/IB one...
