Thanks for replying!

I am very new to the interbase database.
In the past I have installed mysql and Oracle.
Then installed the DBI and the DBD.

In this case, I have the DB on a windows machine and I am trying to install the DBI/DBD on a
freebsd machine. When I try installing it, it asks me to install Interbase first, which makes me
wonder if it needs it for the commands or to actually connect to this specific database.
Also, would you recommend installing the DBI/DBD (and Interbase) on a Red Hat machine? It seems as
if there is more support fot that platform for now..
