All opinions, even made forcibly, are welcome -- heck I'm about as
opinionated as you can get! (as if you hadn't figured that out ;-])

If it hadn't been for forcible opinions the change for ambiguity would
probably not have been made.

But an acknowledgment that improvements come with a 'price' would be
appreciated.

The question becomes the 'price' vs. benefit.

Look at what MS is doing to VB user in their migration to .NET.

By any measure I think you'll find that Firebird competes with the 'best
of them'.
