Good news from borland.public.interbase.general:
"IB 6.5 includes 64 bit file i/o so the 2/4 gigabyte file size limit is gone.
The cache manager has been fixed so that caches > 10k pages will not
decrease performance. The cache manager has also been improved to provided
faster cache allocation and less cache management overhead so using a larger
cache may improve your performance. As Dan said, SMP is an IB 7 feature."
