I think this is one of the most useful features of IB 6.5 compared
to Firebird. It has always been so disappointing to see IB use only
about 80 MB of RAM on a server with 1 GB RAM!

In general, I think there IB and FB are still equal competitors -
this shows how good the FB engineers work. And maybe there are still
bugs in IB 6.5 which are already fixed in FB ;-)

I wish success to both products; but I want to thank the FB engineers
for their efforts - they made the nearly the same (or even better -
concerning
fixed bugs) progress than the payed IB development team.
