Thanks... Unfortunately, I've already tried all 3 of the
workourarounds listed on page 16 individually and all at the same
time...

With the files renamed to .lalala instead of .gdb, in mydocuments,
with gdb removed from filelist.xml, and sys restore turned off, the
problem still occurs!

Since it's a local connection the problem probably is not network
related, as well...

At this point I'm out of ideas, and now my entire project is
indefinately postponed as this Interbase performance is making
currently 'not XP compatible'!!!
