One of my customers is having a problem with the their client getting
disconnected from the server. They get the "Unknown Win32 Error" (I
believe 10054). The server is running Windows ME, and the client is
Windows 98. Both the client and server are running Firebird 0.9-4.
On the server, they have a specialized piece of equipment (I believe
connected to the parallel port) that writes to some special memory cards
(This has nothing to do with Interbase. It's just something else that
they're using the computer for.). When they are actively writing to one
of the memory cards, that's what causes the client to get disconnected.
To recover, they have to exit my app and restart it to reconnect to the
database.
Does anyone know why this happens? Any solutions?
Thanks,
Joe
