when W2k decides that there is nothing connected to the
network card it also disables local access to the TCP/IP
'stack' - hence no local connection. The local loopback
thingy seems to be the answer, and I will post some notes
when I understand it <g>
Just to add to the fun, I now have a 802.11b Wireless
network attached to the local system. I'll see what that
does to things as well.
