I agree. I'm not sure how the security should be handled, but I do know the
ease to work around security now (i.e. copy the database) is to easy.

Another thing I would like to see in IB/FB is implementation of server
procedures, not just database specific. This would allow you to create a
procedure to return alias information, database location, etc. when starting
up an app. Querying the server you connect to for this information would
avoid the need for extra INI files, etc.
