I tend to agree with this suggestion. A first offense (or even a very
occasional one) is best directly privately so as not to appear condescending
to (mostly) newcomers. Though, I'm not a newcomer, I do occasionally forget
to trim appropriately. Normally it is due to hurried responses such as I did
this time. I have also seen people being admonished for not quoting any of
the previous message so you see the answer but don't know what the question
or problem was.

With borland being more of a public newsgroup, I think responding in the
list itself is useful as it gives others insight into the rules since most
people don't read them anyway. However, this group is specific in that you
need to sign up to receive it and so therefore can use a slightly different
tactic. <g>

In closing, I'll try to watch myself in the future. Especially since I
couldn't specifically remember the solution to the problem itself.
