Author

Dear,

Firstly sorry for my bad english. i need your help, because I migrate from 32 bit linux processor Core 2 Quad to new machine. All as below:

PC-1:  linux 32bit, kernel 2.6.22-5, processor Core 2 Quad, PHP version 5.2.8, Firebird Classic version 1.5.6, disk SSD, motherboard MSI P7N SLI Platinum , Apache2, Mysql, ReiserFS

PC2: linux 64bit, kernel 3.11.6-4, processor i7 Haswell, PHP version 5.4.20, Firebird Classic version 1.5.6, disk SSD, motherboard MSI Z87-43g, Apache2 profork, MariaDB, EXT4

a) when I start PC-1 PHP+Mysql (select from one database) database - performance is OK,
b) when I start PC-1 PHP+Mysql (select from one MariaDB) database - performance is OK,
c) when I start PC-1 PHP+Firebird (select from 4 databases) - performance is OK, work all cores processor, processor use about 100%,
d) when I start PC-2 PHP+Firebird (select from 4 databases) - performance is
BAD, work all cores processor, each cores use 0-1,3%, total processor use under 8%,
e) other software application with Firebird work fast on PC-1 and on PC-2.
f) when I use for PHP PC-2, and put Firebird databases and serwer on PC-1 - performance is OK,
g) when I use PHP PC-1, and put Firebird and databases on PC-2 - performance is OK,
h) I change MSI BIOS - disable Hyperthreating, disable second processor - no any effect,
i) I cannot change Firebird server to higher version, because producer software for Financial dept no change it. Only PHP is our own software.

Problem is because if i use PHP+Firebird on PC-2 - on one disk, or different disk (also different partition) - performance is slower 10 times as on old machine.

Thanks for yoru help.

Best Regards
Konrad
