I am trying to access a firebird database created by Fishbowl Inventory Systems. When I try to connect, I get the not defined message.

I know what the view-only user name and password are, and I have no way to change them.

I don't know what firebird version the DB was created with, and I have firebird 2.1.5 on my pc. Is it possible that a DB created with an older version of Firebird couldn't be accessed by my version? Or in copying the DB from the server to my pc via memory stick, did something happen?
