With FB2.1 now out of the door I'm wondering if we need to start seriously
looking at both branching the 'fbird' functions from 'ibase' and looking to
access some of the new firebird features.
I have to admit to not looking too closely as yet at the FB2.1 stuff other
than merging the UDF stuff, but the RETURNING function may need some work in PHP?
In addition we do still have the BUGS that are creeping in because of 64 bit
working and the untested updates to the code required to even compile things
under the newer PHP5.2.x structure.
The final piece of the jigsaw will of cause be Unicode and PHP6 but until
there is some agreement within the PHP project I doubt that we will have
anything practical to work with any time soon :(
SO - in the absence of any current maintainer is there anything that we need
to look at? Things that we can at least log in the PHP tracker, although I
think our own TODO list somewhere may be useful? I've got a space that could
be managed, or we could run it on the Firebird Wiki?
Any thoughts?
