So do I. It's just straigt forward beeing on Windows or Linux, and nothing to worry about on having diferent applications (even from diferent vendors) build with java, delphi, php and so on working on same server/database.

Along with, of course, all other reasons pointed out by Mimmo


*Although* that's not some kind of deep analisys.. I find Postgre a great project but I've only played a bit with it as I'm too confortable with Firebird to go through all Postgre "complexity". And, MySQL... it just don't have the features of a real RDBMs, not to mention it's licencing model.
