OK - I've been having a constructive set of feedback on the devel list and we
have a couple of ground rules from the development team point of view.

If there is a problem with an old client accessing a new server it needs to be
reported and it will be fixed. So there is no need to change a client just
because one is accessing a later version of the server. New facilities will
not be available, but the functions used by the older clients will work
transparently.

Similarly there should currently be no problem using multiple clients - even
if they are different - when accessing a single local copy of the database.

The legacy problems relating to clients HAVE been addressed and should not
affect FB1.5 onwards.
