Interesting. Well, maybe it's because I run Linux 99.99% of the time I
did not see that yet. Linux (and all the libs) use UTF8 natively, I use
UTF8 as connection charset and I see all my HTML pages to send UTF8 meta
tag in <head>.

So, one could argue that you already have a 'clean playing field', at
least on Linux. :)
