I and many other 'good' os development projects use ADOdb. I never could
get my head round PEAR :)
ADOdb now has some better IB/FB support and PHP5 has fbird_ versions of
the ibase_ functions. John will be releasing an official ADOdb with the
latest stuff next week, but in the meantime,
http://adodb.sourceforge.net/ is the new location for ADOdb - John has
been having hosting problems - hence the holdup on a new release ;)

Nice thing about PHP and Firebird - it couldn't care less :)
