PHP5 does not have MySQL included as standard - MySQL have
changed their licence conditions :) So we are pushing
Firebird as an alternative standard ;)

There is nothing in PHP4 that requires MySQL, but a lot of
the sample application assume it is installed. ADOdb works
nicely with a Firebird only install, but I'm still looking
of 'The Ideal Library' to use with PHP.
