Yep, I have experienced this also, when I tried to insert new rows
containing a BLOB.
The funny thing is that every second insert seems to fail.
Also I have tables where this runs smoothly.
I haven't worked out any solution, let alone a solution :-(

slow before them...):

when trying to retrieve data from a BLOB SUB_TYPE TEXT I get this:
java.sql.SQLException: couldn't open blob: 614180331950 exception:
invalid transaction handle (expecting explicit transaction start)
DIAGNOSE -4

Remember that I'm using autocommit...
