Claudio discovered this recently:
http://www.classicalmusicbroadcast.com/
Actually, Claudio wrote to the station to complain about some aspects of the service and got this in the reply from its director, Kelly:
"Normally the station is only on 9AM-4PM Eastern Standard Time in the US.
That is right on the front page of the site.
"There is no membership.
"Sometimes we turn it on during the weekend - it is on now, and has
been for a few hours.
"We would love to run it for 24 hours, but can't afford to - if you would like to help, you can make a direct gift to the station using PayPal, you can visit our Google advertisers or make a purchase at Amazon using the links on the top of the page - Amazon donates a few pennies from each purchase back to the station.
"Until we can bring in about $300 dollars a month, we can't go 24 hours a day. Right now the combined methods bring in about $20-40 dollars a month, and I pay the rest personally. If I have a lot of personal bills, then the station has to be off even longer.
"I see you are associated with FireBird - thats the DB that runs the station - why don't you have your employer sponsor us? :)
[ p.s. I'm currently listening in from eastern Australia, mid-afternoon here, to Daniel Barenboim playing a Beethoven sonata -- and the reception is great! -- hb]
