years now and created multiple enterprise apps in that time. My point
was that it was an uphill battle starting with explenations why it's
called Firebird and not Interbase and so on.
I was also pointing out my observation that the initial reaction of
idiot managers was better when just using Interbase vs Firebird as the
"name" for the future technology powering our new product. And trust
me, not one of them has ever heard of IB or FB before. Heck, most of
them don't even know the Borland name.
Now, the slogan has to be something "presentable" to all types of
people: devs, SMBs andenterprise customers. I, for one, would feel
funny when saying that the the database backend choosen is Firebird
the Legend :-)
Btw, in the end Firebird as a backend was killed of mostly based on
performance considerations... :-(
