Sorry I am kind of late to the game here but please accept a few words
of advice:

Comming fresh from a UNSUCCESSFFUL pitch for Firebird to my managers
(long story/this has been gooing on for the last 12 months), here are
the list of major objections to firebird:

1. It's new, it's unproven
3. No commercial backing in the US

Well you will say yes, but what does it have to do with the slogan?
Well, the first trouble you run into when you try to explain the
history behind Firebird to someone. That story alone turns some people
off. Questions like: Firebird, why haven't I heard of it before. It
must be something new (and this means in the DB world unproven). Well,
no it has been around for a long time under the name of Interbase...

Also the whole notion of Firebird/Phoenix and rising from the ashes
stipulates a new beginning and thus something NEW and unproven. In
this context, Legend might not work that well.

Interestingly, after initial cold reception, I had much better success
when using the Interbase name during my presentations instead of
Firebird.
