Yes i now free pascal andf lazarus :-)
Im verry exited about it and i wil probebly go there to.
I own the commercial licenties for Delphi 6,7 and 8 (highest versions)
and i have worked with
Delphi for more that 5 years (from d3).
I think the Freepascal and lararus have great potetial. All do there in
a early stage right now. Bu tmy nowledge of Delphi wont be lost if i wil
use freepascal and lararus.
Im sure we can port most of the ZEOS to Freepascal since its all bases
on the abstracet class Tdataset and thats included in teh Lararus. So
even do it mite take some time it wil be availeble on Lararus one day.
For now i think its to young to make realy production executebles with
the Freepascal. But that wil change in the years to come. So maby you
should try to get hold of a Delphi version so you can begin to build
Stuff and learn Delphi.

I think when we port To Lararus we wil have the summun of Opensource Fee
compiler and free program. You cant beat that. :)

I am a VB programmer and I´m trying to look for an alternative (Open
Source) for creating Windows applications so I´ve decided to learn
freepascal (with Lazarus Win32 port IDE Delphi clone). Have any of
you tried this with Firebird? If TurboCash is Open Source they
should also try to port it to freepascal.

Just my 2 cents....
