Hey there,
I'm interested to see if anyone has Firebird deployed in a
high-availability or clustering environment.
I know IBReplicator and drbd/heartbeat are products out there that
allow one to do an active-passive HA setup, but I wanted to know if
anyone has ever gotten an active-active 2 machine Firebird setup
going, or a clustering setup going, or something of that nature, where
both read and write traffic could be distributed across two or more DB
machines. I'd love to get an 2 machine active-active setup going using
a NAS filer (network appliance storage server), or some other
centralized storage, but I don't know about the data-integrity issues
with having multiple database boxes writing to a single shared
storage.
If anyone has any middle-ware products that facilitate this with FB,
or a case study, or a link, etc. to share, I'd LOVE to hear from you.
Thanks!
Robby
