firebirdsql.org shares its server with 750 other websites,
so getting a faster machine is kinda not doubtful with the
current setup, and the slow performance is to be expected.
Mirrors would certainly help, but by the time you pay for a
few additional hosting services to accomodate the mirrors,
a dedicated server might be actually affordable by
comparison, and certainly much faster.
