Subject From IB6.0 to FireBird
Author Trajano Roberto
hi all,

we have a Java Server Page (JSP) Web app running on Tomcat V4.0.1 and
using InterBase V6.0 + InterServer & InterClient.

We have a need to set-up another system and would like to migrate to
FireBird (we looked at MySQL, but ....).

To build our confidence, could you please assist us with the
following:
a) Can we copy EXACTLY all the store procedures developed for IB6.0
to the latest stable version of FireBird?

b) Can we copy EXACTLY all the database schema developed for IB6.0 to
the latest stable version of FireBird?

c) Is there any FREE tool such as IBConsole for FireBird?
If not, what is available out there?

d) We heard that JayBird is the supported JDBC driver by the
community. Is it stable as InterServer & InterClient?

e) If we would like to pay money to have guaranteed support, is there
any private organisation in the market place providing these services?

Thank you very much and waiting for a positive response.
We would like to adopt FireBird now!

Trajano
