Hi,

You'd better write to firebird-support@yahoogroups.com - cause that's
the support list ... but:

Yes, create a backup with IB6 and restore this backup in Firebird 1.x

Yes, create a backup with IB6 and restore this backup in Firebird 1.x

There's a tool called "IBOConsole" - search with Google and a free
tool IBAccess - www.ibaccess.org - also IB_SQL at www.ibobjects.com

But lots of people prefer the commercial (though not expensive) tools, for
example at www.upscene.com ( Database Workbench )

See www.ibphoenix.com "Contributed Downloads" for a complete list.

As far as I know, JayBird is pretty stable :-)

There's IBPhoenix who you can contact for paid support. There's also
the Firebird Foundation ( see www.firebirdsql.org ) that you can contact
for project sponsoring, membership etc etc...
