Ever since the thread started I'm doing some more reading of these
'standards'. If anyone's interested :

I vaguely recalled reading an old article on the DBMS Magazine (around
1996/1997 timeframe) that found interbase to be one of the most
standard-compliant (while bashing oracle for its 'extensions'...:). I'm
really curious of what the firebird team's long-term plans and
priorities regarding this particular aspect (sql compliance). If nothing
else, it's good marketing point (I think).
