I do have objections. I told you in my very first message that I
don't think colour rich pages are something intelligent for a
serious, technical, non-profit thing like an OSS project. How can you
say "if no one has any objections"?? As I see you still have 5
colours on your site: Black, White, Blue, DarkYellow and BrightYellow.
Also you didn't listen to my other critics: Title is still at bottom
and you still use frames. The "dynamic" menu with sub items is really
not necessary, all we need is a _simple_ site with clear structures.
For the colours themselves: As I said before, one colour (besides
white) for navigation areas would e acceptable. Actually yellow
matches the logo quite well. But it should really not be used as
background for the logo, because it looses any contrast and hence
looses its appeal.
Also, an advantage of yellow is that it allows to use normal, balck
fonts on it ant it's readable. So why do you put black fields on it,
so that you need to use white fonts on it??
I told you I wouldn't try to do a glitter and glamour site but you
just cant leave your fingers from the colour pot. I for my part think
that the sample site I made myself is much more clean and calm, and
hence preferrable for this project. With a colour rich site you won't
impress anybody.
Another thing: If I say yellow for navigation areas is ok, that
should be it. Not additionally bright yellow background for the
entire page. That's simply too much.
So, that's my opinion. I prefer what I have done myself. But I
appreciate that you ask the opinion of the others because, indeed, I
think this is an important decision regarding the website and it's up
to all to pronounce their preferrence and to hopefully opt for
something more reasonable....
