Hello, all.
Since I CC'ed this list to request more information from EasySoft and only
got a personal response without a CC to this list, I'm FWing the answer from
Nick Gorham to clarify what's about EasySoft's unfinished (beta?) ODBC
driver.
I was misleading by reading their site, thinking that the IB driver would
be open source, same as the one they are building for Oracle.
Hope Mr. Gorham won't have problems with this email. After all, I requested
general information that probably is inside a readme file in the download
itself. But for my limited bandwidth, the file is heavy as to get it only to
know the terms of the intended license.
See the response below, please.

No its unlikley to be free (at least at the moment). Originally when we were

cash to produce this driver, it was going to be free, and would have been at
www.easysoft.org. However after the fallout, its intended at the moment to
be a
commercial closed driver. Its a shame but thats the only way I could get it
out at
all. It may be possible for borland at a later date to convince us that it
should be
open, but we will see.
I havn't put anything on the web site at the moment, it's just from the ftp
site, our
webmaster is somewhat busy at the moment with http://www.cinema.com
We havn't set pricing yet, but I guess the $100 tag may prove popular. My
aim at the
moment is to get the code in use and tested, and not wasted.
