Shiv,
Well you've got me on both counts/apps. When I first set up this Win2K
machine I tried to install pcAnywhere and could not (I don't remember what
version I have but it works fine on Win95/98/NT). I have not bothered to
update it but I will when I *really* need it on this machine.
I do not have MS SQL Server here either; that's on my NT box.
I did notice a *third* copy of MSVCRT.dll in my \JBuilder35\jdk1.2.2\jre\bin
directory which has a date/time stamp of 6/7/2000 9:36 (version 6.0.8337.0).
The other two are a bit older according to the date/time stamp but are
version (6.1.8637.0) (in \WinNT\System32 and \WinNT\System32\DLLCache).
What version are you seeing?
I suspect you have saved me a few hours of heartache or a few gray hairs
just by calling attention to the file. (I really hate to find I've got
multiple copies/versions of a dll of the same name. It usually means I've
been sloppy/careless somewhere. What was the point of a dll again?)
