It's Raima they are releasing. You can find out about it at
www.raima.com. I jumped at first, thinking they were releasing the SQL
database (used to be Gupta). There doesn't seem to be any mention of
server-side processing - all updates seem to be done from the client using
API calls. It boasts "db-Query - for SQL-like queries".

I imagine the timing of it had everything to do with the timing of the
Linuxworld convention. Well, that, and that there's no time like the
present to tell the world about a small-footprint database.
