Centura Launches First Open Source Data Management Solution for Information
Appliances at LinuxWorld

"The open source development community has eagerly awaited the introduction
of an ultra-small footprint, high performance, reliable, predictable and
developer friendly embeddable database. No other vendor combines the small
footprint, high-performance, and C API of db.linux in an open source
offering. Centura's db.linux has first mover advantage in this fast-growing
Linux Information Appliance and embedded systems market. "
Hmmm.... I wonder what prompted this?
I don't know much about Centura's DB lineup. From there Web Page, they seem
to have three DB's available: Raima Database Manager (RDM), SQLBase and
Velocis Database Server - all of which claim to be "embedded Databases" and
run SQL in some form. Has anyone used any of them, or know anything about
them?
They claim they will be releasing the source before Feb 29. Makes you wonder
what Inprise it doing, doesn't it?
