Hello:
for connections, so i should think that your are right :)
( Taking postgresql as a possible reference, they can use both
normal and ssl connections, ssl connections are done sending an
SSL request message before the protocol starts, if the server
returns a value that indicates that the ssl connection can be done
the ssl handshake is negotiated and the protocol works using ssl if not it
works using the normal connection )
