As compensation, they used to send out their coasters in nice DVD cases. Now
they're using useless little metal boxes (OK, it does make a serviceable but
ugly coaster), and I have to get my free DVD cases from MSN.

But I have trouble imagining an organization of volunteers taking the
position that
the guys who have something they want are too small to defend it, so they can
just take it. And if they start with intangible property, where is it to stop?
Stealing whole middle eastern countries?

But this has nothing to do with XML, though it is more interesting.
