Well maybe maybe not. I am sure *we* all want software that doesn't suck or
crash. But most people don't really care and will use whatever you
pre-install on their computer or whatever their boss tells them to use.
Other wise OS/2 or Amiga or Linux would be the dominant software platforms
today not windows.

OS wars aside postgres and mysql both run on windows and linux (as well as
solaris, freebsd etc). So it's not really a matter of operating systems.
