I apologise for using this list to voice my wish list...but
I find that there is a lack in IB to execute DDL statements from within
SPs. This is something that we have needed many times, but had to resort
to
performing these operations from a client. MS SQL Server provides these
functions.
Something else that we have needed was the ability to have dynamic SQL
from
within a SP. I know that this may be asking a bit much. Think of the
ability to have a table of selection criteria (WHERE clauses) and being
able to, in a SP 'FOR SELECT' statement perform a query for each of the
stored selection criteria. I hope this abbreviated example is clear.
Hope this sets some minds churning even faster... ;-)
