Thanks, that's a bit spooky, I was just sitting there looking at a grid with data and thought, "maybe I will always use a prefix." The I clicked over to the browser to look for something on deleting and there is your suggestion.

I am still a little stuck in the BDE mindset. I guess 30+ years of non-SQL is gonna take a little time to get past. :-)

Is there a better method of unique identifiers than just the AutoInc?
