I still do C++ work, just not VCL related. For VCL I use
Delphi (and spend some hours each time I switch languages
getting my commas, colons and semi-colons mixed up). I
switched from BCB many years ago because of the amount of
trouble it caused me (especially doing component development).

It has been some time now, but the last time I looked at
Lazarus it was far enough behind that the work it would have
taken to get my components over to that environment meant
that the upgrade price for Delphi turned out to look much
more attractive. Hence I got D2010.

You just have to pick where you pay the cost, because it's
all going to cost you. :-(
