Yes, you are right!
I made a test just like you did to be sure, and it works.

But...
I forgot to mention I had a TIB_Grid in that test Form (o.O).

Please, put a TIB_DataSource and TIB_Grid.
Test again a query with parameters.
Access violation will occur.
Then, put the TIB_Transaction assigned to the Connection.
Let us know that happens...
