Now I feel embarrassed. The TIB_Script component works exactly as it should,
and the OnStatement event is fired as it should be. I had just about the
dumbest error in the book to which my eyes were apparently blind: I was
displaying the progress percentage in a progressbar where I simply
calculated the percentage wrong...

I'll wear the ass-hat for the weekend. Thanks for all the replies.
