I don't know if you have been monitoring firebird-support, keeping up
with all these lists can take a lot of time :(
I'm having problems with a section of my system that has not changed in
some years and is working fine everywhere - except it would seem when
accessing a copy of Firebird running on W2003. On two sites now I've got
'Dataset is currently fetching' pop-ups on a client machine and one of
these sites is an original one, where the clients have been running for
several years with no problems. The ONLY think that has changed is that
the customer's IT department insisted moving the server functions to
their new W2003 server setup. The client machine running IBO has not
changed and has run for the last three without giving an error!
The other site is relatively new and has only run W2003 on the servers.
We had thought the problem was just on their network, but the old site
popped it up again yesterday. The database involved only has at most 100
records across four tables and simply logs changes in the hardware as
they happen, so SHOULD not be updated very often at all :(
I've not seen any other reports on Firebird, but have had reports from
BOTH sites of other software having problems with W2003!
Any ideas - or rather what do I need to do to nail this down?
( I am still running 4.2Ie on Builder6 - which is the last approved
build. They will not let *US* change things yet they insist on changing
MS stuff! )
