I would like to see IB_Backup, IB_Restore components on the ? iboTools, or
?iboServices bar in Delphi.



I have implemented the Mengoni code, but it is cumbersome, and am having
some problems, especially with the different options available, and the use
of aliases, as well as backing up over a network.



Also .Support for incremental backups for Firebird 2.0.



Couldn't you do it nicely, properly, for a dummy like me, to get it right
cut and paste.

Backing up and restoring data from within ones application is, as far as I
am concerned, of paramount importance to the end user.

Expecting them to use third party tools, makes it dangerous, and prone to
end user errors. That is why I have attempted to the best of my ability to
include Mengoni's code, with multiple changes and tweaks, and getting a
reasonable result, but really, I just don't trust my implementation as I
would yours.



I'm sure there are many others out there that feel the same as I do?
